Circlips and axle washers are small, fairly flat metal pieces that ensure parts mounted on a smooth or threaded shaft stay in place, even with vibrations or shocks.
They can also allow, for example, to hold a screw or bolt in place before the nut is positioned and tightened. In some cases, they can even replace a traditional nut.
By preventing the unintended axial displacement of parts, retaining clips and washers offer major advantages:
- a secure holding of the parts in place,
- a reduction in premature wear of parts due to friction, e.g.,
- a reduction in maintenance costs.
Unlike circlips, ARaymond clips and retaining washers are fitted without special tools by simply pushing them into place. They take up little space and are therefore suitable for confined areas.
They are often found in the home appliance or automotive sectors, in HVAC systems, small mechanical and electronic equipment, toys, or even trolleys.
