IDG was founded in 1971 in Stuttgart, Germany. It designs and manufactures seals for mechanical engineering, energy, the food and beverage industry, and the paper industry.
The choice of high-performance materials
Listening to its customers, and noting the limited properties of elastomeric O-rings, IDG has implemented a strong innovation policy to create even more effective products. IDG has thus simultaneously developed new seal profiles, where the elastomer acts as a pre-stressing element, but also new materials, essentially with a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) matrix. The properties of PTFE, and especially its extremely low coefficient of friction, give IDG seals exceptional service lives.
The art of adapting
By creating its own materials and profiles, IDG has developed unique expertise allowing it to adapt to all applications, from the simplest to the most complex. Most seals are made from machined blanks, thus providing complete flexibility in their creation. This bespoke process therefore allows for perfect adaptability of the seal to the application:
